Aim High Building Fund
Building Learning Places
Specialist buildings, classrooms, and other learning spaces are required if Balwyn High School is to continue to provide personalised learning and growth opportunities to all young people. Whatever your child’s passions, special talents and abilities, whether they are in Sport, Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Information Technology, Media, Science or Humanities - the right facilities are essential.
The School Council, in partnership with all members of the school community, is committed to the future development of the school. In a rapidly changing world we cannot afford to be complacent. There are many challenges to be faced if we are to remain one of Victoria’s leading schools.
As a public school, the Department of Education provides the basic infrastructure. The Aim High Building Fund was born out of the belief that the basic infrastructure could be significantly enhanced through a strong partnership that added value to Department of Education-funded building projects and also to those building projects funded solely by the school.
The Architectural Master Plan - Our Priorities
Balwyn High School’s Architectural Master Plan has earmarked the following priority projects:
- a new art complex incorporating visual communication and design studios, photographic labs, and multimedia, ceramics and studio arts spaces
- a new technology complex where students will explore electronics, robotics, and computer-aided design and manufacture, systems and materials technology
- replacement of the 1950s general-purpose classrooms and toilets, and provision of appropriate staffrooms for teaching and support staff
In the next ten years, with parent, alumni and community support we can deliver these projects as well:
- an all-weather playing surface, upgrading of the oval, relocation of the cricket nets, development of new tennis courts and a long jump pit
- an extension of the weights training room in the Sports Centre
- an environmental centre for the study of sustainability
Making a Contribution is Easy
It’s easy to invest in Balwyn High School’s future through the Aim High Building Fund.
The Aim High Building Fund is a tax-deductible trust.
Parents, alumni and community members can donate throughout the year. Simply call the General Office on 9819 7911 and ask for an Aim High brochure to be sent to you.
Parents can make a contribution at the time you pay your voluntary contribution, if that’s more convenient.
You can also provide bank authorisation to donate on a regular basis to the Fund.
The Balwyn High School Council and the whole school community is sincerely grateful to all donors for their contribution and this annual direct appeal provides an opportunity to consider an initial donation, or in many cases, a further donation to the tax-deductible trust.
