Performing Arts

The Performing Arts are a vital part of life at Balwyn High School.

Both curricular and co-curricular Drama and Theatre Arts are flourishing. The participation in school productions has tremendous educational value. This participation challenges students and is great fun!

Theatre Arts

Co-curricular Theatre Arts opportunities include school productions and musicals, with performance, technical, backstage and stage-craft roles available – all areas in which the students are encouraged to develop their skills. This program is designed to extend the practical and performance focus of the VCE courses in Music and Performing Arts that can be selected in Years 11 and 12. Drama and Dance are part of the curriculum in Years 9 to 12. The students are encouraged to participate in a variety of classroom activities and attendance at professional theatrical productions is encouraged.
