Senior School
The Senior School at Balwyn High School consists of Years 10, 11 and 12.
Students are supported by their classroom teachers along with three Year Level Coordinators
at each year level, a Head of Senior School, and a Senior School Administrative
Assistant. Each year level has its own identifiable area.
Regular level assemblies for Year 10, 11 and 12 students allow the opportunity for
presentations and guest speakers on a range of issues. In addition, Year 10 students
have a timetabled tutorial period once per week.
Examinations form part of the assessment for all year levels. Year 10 and 11 examinations
are held at the end of Semester 1 and Semester 2. Year 12 students complete examinations
as determined by the VCAA guidelines.
Our aim is to prepare students for VCE and to support them throughout VCE, culminating
in a successful Year 12.
