Student Transition Enhancement Program
The Student Transition Enhancement Program runs during the first term of each school year. Its aim is to assist the transition of Year 7 students from primary to secondary school and to afford the older students the opportunity of taking a leadership role.
There are eight sessions which are conducted by specially selected and trained Year 10 students. Among the topics covered are:
- finding your way around a large school campus
- making friends
- the house system and sports days
- the anti-bullying campaign
- anti-smoking information
- problems students might experience and where to get help
- valuing other people and respecting differences among people
The eighth session is a celebration of successfully completing the first term at Balwyn High School.
