Tutorial Program
The quality of relationships in a school is a key factor in producing high levels of student morale and performance: caring and supportive relationships are essential if students are to learn more effectively.
The Tutorial Program, for students in Years 7-10, provides the opportunity for at least one teacher to develop a strong rapport with the students in their tutorial group whilst at the same time focusing on the individual student, their wellbeing, learning and progress. The overall aim is to integrate learning and wellbeing.
Through the Tutorial Program, Year 7 and Year 8 students are assisted to develop skills in areas such as self-management, goal-setting, sound study habits, understanding empathy and anger, creating a balanced lifestyle and building resilience.
Year 9 students are guided through the Why Try? program which will provide them with greater self-understanding.
The Year 10 Tutorial Program focuses on the transition from Middle School to Senior School and the pathways into VCE and beyond.
Initially, tutorial sessions will be held once every two weeks. Over time, this may increase to once each week.
