Sporting Facilities
Tony Frizza Sports Centre
Balwyn High School’s Tony Frizza Sports Centre provides our student body with a state-of-the-art sporting facility servicing our students as well as local community netball and basketball clubs and associations. The centre features three full-sized indoor courts, including a show court constructed to meet national standards. Complementing these facilities are a fully equipped weights room, a dedicated cardio training room, and two contemporary classrooms, all housed within the centre complex. Students at Balwyn High School are actively encouraged to make full use of these facilities throughout their enrolment.

Robert Handreck Sports Field
Visible from the expansive panoramic windows of the show court, Balwyn High School’s fully synthetic Sports Field stands as a prominent feature of the school. Completed in 2015, this premier facility boasts an all-weather surface constructed to meet both FIH (International Hockey Federation) and FIFA standards. The Sports Field is also equipped with an athletics track, along with dedicated long jump and triple jump pit. Students are encouraged to utilise this space during recess and lunchtime, in addition to its use for scheduled physical education classes and extracurricular sporting events. The versatile field supports a wide range of sports, including soccer, hockey, netball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, and athletics.

Additionally, the outdoor precinct includes two versatile courts suitable for basketball, netball, handball, and futsal. Three competition-grade pickleball courts are available and utilised regularly as part of the Physical Education and Sport Education programs. Furthermore, outdoor multi-station basketball setups provide additional recreational opportunities for students during recess and lunch breaks.
